Cuba Part 2: The Trip

I spent the bulk of the trip in Havana, where I witnessed firsthand the long shadow cast by communism — economic stagnation, crumbling infrastructure, and families scraping together whatever they can. But I also saw beauty: in the resilience of the people, in their hunger for truth, and in the light of Christ breaking through the darkness.

We partnered with Filter of Hope, a global nonprofit dedicated to clean water access. Each filter we distributed became more than just a tool — it became a bridge. We met with families, prayed with them, and left behind not just clean water, but the living water of the Gospel. I saw tears. I saw joy. And I saw souls come alive in Christ. These are people who have suffered under broken systems — and yet, when the name of Jesus is spoken, something powerful happens.
